What Is Periodic Motion And Periodicity?

We constantly see different types of motion or kinetic objects. Physics explains all kinds of motions. However, according to the difference in speed, they are discussed in different branches. From Newtonian mechanics to quantum mechanics, there are numerous speeds of discussion and explanation. Periodic motion is such a special kind of motion.

Eclipse

The term periodic means to return to its previous state after a certain period of time. Periods can be of two types. E.g.

• Spatial periodic.
• Periodic periodic.

Spatial periodicity 

If something is repeated after a certain distance, then this type of periodicity is called spatial periodicity. For example, on the tiled floor, the empty spots between the tiles are repeated one after the other.

Chronological Period

If an event is repeated after a certain period of time, this type of period is called a chronological period. For example, every second minute of the clock passes the 12 o'clock house.

Periodic motion and periodicity

If the motion of a moving object is such that its motion passes a certain point in the path in the same direction from time to time. That is, the motion of the object is repeated. However, this type of motion is called periodic motion. The period of time in which its motion is repeated is called the period of that motion. For example, the minute hand of the clock passes the house in the same direction every 12 hours. So this is a periodic motion and the duration of this motion is 1 hour.
