What is the most coveted and prestigious award in the world? Undoubtedly, the answer from most people will be the Nobel Prize. The award is named after Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel.

He bequeathed his inherited property and the huge amount of money he earned by selling his invention of dynamite patents before his death. These awards and huge sums of money were paid according to the will.

The awards are given in a total of six categories, including three in science. Today we will discuss the Nobel Prize 2012 Prize in Chemistry.

Scientists Robert Lefkowitz and Brian Koblica jointly won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry this year. The first is a U.S. citizen of Polish descent. He studied medical science and surgery at Columbia University.

Another holds a higher degree in medical science from Yale University. He is currently teaching Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford. Among them is the student-teacher relationship.

The subject of their research was to provide an explanation for the function of the G-protein coupling receptor. G-Protein Couple Receptor GPCR for short is a very important thing for our disease.

Let me explain the matter a little. When we feel pain in the skin or mosquito bites anywhere in the body, we can understand that. Because there are some receptors under the skin that receive that news.

And the sensory nerves carry this news to the brain. And then the brain then analyzes it, what to do with it. The motor or submissive nerve then sends the news to where the feeling occurred in Nobel Prize 2012.

Only then do we realize that I am in pain, or that I have been bitten by a mosquito. Then it is seen how important these receptors are. These receptors are present not only in the skin, but throughout the body and even in every cell inside the body. Their job is to receive and transmit chemical signals.

The life of any organism is actually the sum of some biochemical processes. So the activity of these receptors is also very important for survival. Receptors can be divided into four categories: Receptors with ion channels, Enzyme Linked Receptors, G-Protein Couples Receptors and Nuclear Receptors.

The function of receptors with ion channels is to provide a constant signal to neurons. Enzyme-linked receptors are involved in the formation of phosphatase compounds inside cells.

The G-protein capillary receptor is a structural component of the cell membrane. They chemically contain proteins in nature and the cell membrane helix. But the fact is that these special types of receptors are very important in medical science.

However, these receptors are only found in eukaryotic cells. This means that these receptors are characteristic of advanced animals. These contain some special potent protein molecules that carry signals to the cell molecules.

The research of these two scientists is important because the effectiveness of most prophylactic drugs depends on the effectiveness of the G-protein couple receptor. About 40% of modern medicine is made to work on these receptors. Just as every disease has a cause, so does the body undergo some changes to manifest it.

And the role of these receptors is involved in some important parts of this process. These receptors are given this special honor for explaining the speed-nature of their work. Robert Lefkowitz used radioactive isotopes in 197 to search for cell receptors. Lets see the Nobel Prize 2012.

He found several receptors. One of them is the beta adrenergic receptor (a type of G-protein coupler receptor). It is associated with taking the hormone adrenaline. When the hormone adrenaline is secreted and accepted by the receptor, our arousal increases and our blood pressure rises.

As a result of which this receptor works to block, many successful blood pressure control drugs have been developed. Such as: - Propanol and Etinol are drugs that block beta adrenergic receptors. Brian Kobilka was able to isolate beta adrenergic receptors from the human genome.

He also donated its work and explanation. Brian Kobilka and her research team were able to capture some important moments of these receptors in 2011 also Nobel Prize 2012. In particular, when they attach to hormones within a fraction of a second, they provide chemical signals. Scientists have said that these pictures will accelerate the progress of medical science.
