A few words about Mark Few, one of the best coaches in basketball

Mark Few was born on December 27, 1962, in Crosswell, Oregon. He completed his BS in Physical Education from Oregon in 1987. He originally played in the point guard position.

Mark Few attended Linfield College and hoped to play basketball and baseball. But while playing football for Creswell's senior team, his shoulder was dislocated and he suffered severe pain. And later it had an adverse effect on his life. He then transferred to the University of Oregon and he hoped to play baseball. But on his way there he was informed that the university authorities had suspended their baseball program.

Mark Few joined his coaching profession before taking his degree. In 1983, he joined Cresswell High School's Alma Mater as a part-time assistant without pay. Again from 1986 to 1987 he was paid for the same post. He has also worked tirelessly at Oregon's Summer Baseball Camp. After spending a season at the Oregon School as an assistant, he moved to Washington and was hired as a graduate assistant at Dan Fitzgerald's Gonzaga staff. Then he did not have to look back. He has worked relentlessly.

In 1990, he received his due honors and was promoted to full-time assistant. This time Mark Fue led Gonzaga in four postseason appearances, including 1994, 1996, and 1998 National Invitational Tournaments and the 1995 NCCA Tournament. In April 1999, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach.

He started betting soon after he was hired as an assistant coach. And why not? He had already swallowed the full juice of the experience.

After Monson's sudden departure, Mark Few took charge of the Gonzaga program very nicely. And in the first season, after he took charge, he kept Bulldog away from being a one-year wonder. Mark Few is considered to be the second head coach of his nation to achieve this feat, the first head coach since the 1985 NCCA Tournament was expanded to 64 teams.

He won 81 matches in the 2001-2002 season when his head coaching career spanned only three seasons. And with this achievement, he set an all-time record in NCCA men's coaching. And the record he set was stable until 2010 and was broken by Brad Stevens.

Mark Few was the third-fastest coach in the history of NCCA Division 1 to win 500 matches. The success of the program largely depends on the success of the individual Mark Few. He was so successful in his coaching career that he was qualified to participate in the Gonzaga NCCA Tournament in each of the twenty-one seasons of his career. The Bulldogs participated in every WCC tournament under Mark Few.

For six consecutive seasons from 2001 to 2006, Mark Few was named Coach of the Year at the West Coast Conference. In the 2012-13 season, Bulldogs-led Mark Few led his team to #1 on both poles and broke the previous record, which lasted only a week.

In the 2016-17 season, Mark Few scored the highest point in the history of the school for the Jags and completed the best season. He was so good at his coaching career that other coaches, starting from club officials, continued to respect him. The feats he has achieved for his team with his talent and intelligence are truly unimaginable.

All coaches have some successes and some failures in their coaching careers. Mark Few is no exception. He too has seen some defeat in his career and is disappointed. However, considering the direction of his victory, it can be said to be very small.

The Bulldogs lost several of their team's best players in the 2006-07 season, leading to their first double-digit defeat in one season since 1997-98.

In the 2016-17 season, the Bulldogs lost to BYU on February 25 and lost their record 29 game winning streak. And in this, they dropped out of the No. 1 ranking. And that was their first defeat of the regular season.

It is difficult to find the dedication or love for the club to continue your head coaching career in one club. But Mark Few was an exception. Mark Few has spent the entire time of his head coaching career with E. Gonzaga. In return for giving Mark Few everything in his career for this Gonzaga, he also got his full status from the club.
